A community of the river and the mangrove, with its crafts, its festivals and its resilience.

  1. A river community

Juana Moza is a congregation and ejido of the municipality of Tuxpan, on the Tuxpan river. According to the Veracruz University encyclopedia its origin is linked to Totonac people; the area is also Huastec (Tének) territory.

  2. Crafts

Bamboo, palm weaving and the “Juanita” dolls, which honour the Huastec women who carry their harvest to sell in Tuxpan.

  3. 28 feb 2025

The first Tének Festival: unburying of Bolim, offerings, dances, food and crafts, with free entry.

  4. 10 oct 2025

The river overflowed and the community lost homes and belongings. Recovery continues, and this site is also a way to bring visitors back.
